Disney's relaunched "Pirates of the Caribbean" topped Friday box office returns, and will easily win the weekend, but those expecting to the film to top $100 million in its first weekend will be disseminated.

"Pirates 4" blew the competition out of the water with a $35 million haul (including midnight Thursday's screenings), putting it on track to make around $90 million over the weekend. For some perspective, 2007's "Pirates 3" brought in $114 million in its first three days.

That's not to say the film is doing badly. Deadline reports "Pirates" international returns will outgross the American audience in this first weekend, making it a clear success.

Holding tight at number two, and besting "Thor," is "Bridesmaids." The comedy's $6.3 million Friday pushed it past the Avenger's third Friday returns ($4.4 million) for the first time since its release.
