The 88-year-old is best known as the wise (and wise-cracking) housekeeper Alice on TV's "Brady Bunch" and her former co-stars were upset to learn the news of her passing.

" I am so shocked and sad to learn that my dear friend and colleague, Ann B Davis, died today.
I spoke with her a couple of months ago and she was doing great!" writes "Brady Bunch" mom Florence Henderson on Facebook.

Maureen McCormick, who played eldest sister Marcia, says in a statement to the AP, "[Davis]
made me a better person. How blessed I am to have had her in my life. She will be forever missed."

"She was great to work with," adds star Eve Plumb (middle sister Jan) in a statement, "and I have wonderful memories of our scenes together on 'The Brady Bunch.' She was kind and generous to all of us on set."

Below, Barry Williams, who played oldest son Greg, appears on "Today" to talk about his beloved co-star.
