Dawn Olmstead, Vicki Iovine, Meryl Poster and Adam Brooks are the executive producers, with Brooks directing the pilot.

The series is based on Iovine's series of "Girlfriends' Guide" books and is set to debut in 2015. It stars Lisa Edelstein ("House") as Abby, a woman entering the next chapter of her life after her divorce -- but since she's a self-help book author, she tries to hide her separation. As Abby works to navigate being a single woman in her 40s in Los Angeles, she seeks out the advice of her divorced friends.

Janeane Garofalo ("24") is Lyla, a divorcee who is a no-nonsense Hollywood attorney, and Beau Garrett ("Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior") is Phoebe, also a recent divorcee and former model. Paul Adelstein of "Private Practice" is Abby's husband in the pilot, with "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher making a cameo as Abby's book editor.

"I can't thank everyone enough at Bravo and Universal Cable Productions for making Girlfriends' something special," says Noxon. "I am confident that Lisa is going to be TV's next girl crush; she's certainly mine."

Noxon is going to be a busy woman in 2014. Lifetime recently picked up her "Un-Real" pilot to series.
