The final installment of the "Twilight" films, "Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" has surpassed "Breaking Dawn -- Part 1" in its first-day advance ticket sales.

Tickets went on sale Monday (Oct. 1), and Twihards were obviously out in full force, as the movie raked in $1.17 million, according to E! News. First-day sales for the first part of "Breaking Dawn" brought in $626,000 around this same time last year.

About a quarter of the ticket sales were for the day-long "Twilight Saga" marathon, which includes a screening of all the previous films -- "Twilight," "New Moon," "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn -- Part 1" -- before the release of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" on Nov. 16.
