'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' twist: Stephenie Meyer says it's not an alternate ending
But thankfully for anyone who hasn't seen a sneak peek of the movie, author Stephenie Meyer and the stars at Thursday's (Nov. 1) press junket aren't talking about it.
"I wouldn't call it an alternate ending," Meyer says. "The end was something we knew that had to be cracked."
She continues, "In a way, it's kind of offscreen in the novel because we only see what Bella sees. This was just a way of making visual what some of the other characters might have been seeing. It does feel very surprising ... There's definitely something new to see, but to me it doesn't seem like we're going hugely off the page at all."
Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale in the series, says, "There are surprises, so I think we're all reticent about jumping on the spoiler alert train," Rathbone says. "The last 20 minutes are going to really be exciting for the fans."
See the big twist yourself when "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" hits theaters on Nov. 16. (Note to fans: Seriously, steer clear of anyone peddling true spoilers. We've already seen the film, and you'll want to be surprised!)
