Bret Michaels discharged from hospital; doctor expects '100 percent recovery'

bret-michaels-phoenix.jpgDuring Tuesday's (May 4) scheduled press conference on Bret Michaels' condition at a Phoenix hospital, we learned the surprising news that the singer's not even being treated at the facility anymore.

The 47-year-old rocker was discharged from the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital less than two weeks after suffering a brain hemorrhage on April 21.

Michaels' chief neurologist, Dr. Joseph Zabramski, told reporters that despite his release, Michaels "is continuing to receive physical therapy."

In fact, Zabramski added that Michaels will most likely require four to six weeks of such therapy before he's adequately recovered. The doctor said he could not release details of when he left the hospital or where he'll be continuing treatment due to federal privacy laws -- but he did share that the prognosis is good.

"I really expect that he will fortunately make a 100 percent recovery. He's just one of those lucky people -- [among the] 10 to 20 percent who make a complete recovery and can resume all of their normal activities."
