Bret Michaels was the first competitor fired by Donald Trump on the premier of "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice." He wasn't stoked about getting the boot, but reports he had a meltdown are simply not true, according to a production insider.
Trump did not think Michaels made the right move by returning to "Celebrity Apprentice" for the "All-Star" season, and he made no bones about it. Before the show premiered, Trump told the women of "The View" he didn't think it was a smart move for Michaels, who won the third season of "The Celebrity Apprentice," to come back to the show and risk going out a loser.
Then right out of the gate on the "All-Stars" season premiere, The Donald called Bret out and asked him why he would put himself in the position to risk being fired. The Poison rocker and "Rock of Love" star insisted he just wanted to earn more money for his charity, the American Diabetes Association. Last time around, Michaels -- who suffers from Type 1 Diabetes -- brought in $640,000 for the foundation.
It was apparent to anyone paying attention that Trump was gunning for Michaels, and he took the first chance he had to tell Bret, "You're fired." Now, a report emerges that the fired rock star didn't handle losing well. Radar reports the elimination that shocked "Apprentice" viewers shocked Bret himself even more, and he completely melted down.
"Bret was crying and totally distraught after he was fired," says a source Radar cited by as a showinsider. "He couldn't believe it that he was let go so quickly. It was brutal to watch him freaking out the way he did." The source claims Bret believed he was going to win for a second time.
But a source close to the show tells Zap2it, "Bret was not happy to be fired, but did not have a meltdown." Of course he was upset over being fired. Not only was this a brand new gig, but he was trying to earn some cold hard cash for a cause close to his heart. Not to mention the way his villainess teammate, Omarosa Manigault -- who Bret actually went to bat for --conspired to get him tossed.
Seriously, who wouldn't be upset?
