Bret Michaels sings 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' on 'American Idol' finale

bret-michaels-idol-finale.jpgThe rumors turned out to be true: Bret Michaels did indeed join the festivities at the "American Idol" finale.

Michaels, who won "The Celebrity Apprentice" on Sunday (May 23), continued his recovery tour by doing a duet of  "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" with "Idol" third-place finisher Casey James at Wednesday's (May 26) finale. Casey sang the first verse solo, and when Michaels joined him there were huge cheers from the crowd at the Nokia Theater in downtown L.A.

All this comes only about a month after Michaels suffered a brain hemorrhage that had him in critical condition for several days. He was released from the hospital earlier this month and vowed to be back on tour by the end of May.

He was re-hospitalized last week after suffering a "warning stroke," and doctors also found a hole in his heart at the time. Nonetheless, he made it to the "Apprentice" finale over the weekend and looked pretty healthy performing alongside James.

He told fans on his Facebook page this week that he still plans to make a tour date in Biloxi, Miss., on Friday.
