Simon Cowell, the talent judge everyone loves to hate, got pelted with eggs by a former contestant during thee finale of "Britain's Got Talent."
As Richard and Adam Johnson performed an operatic duet, a backing musician stepped out from behind her viola and between the two singers to gleefully throw eggs at Cowell.
Natalie Holt was able to launch three eggs before the camera cuts away from the shot and security can be seen escorting her from the stage at a wider angle.
Cowell took the attack in stride, simply tweeting, "I really don't like eggs." The music exec later tweeted, "Bloody hell! Just watched the Adam and Richard performance back. They didn't miss a note." And it's true -- the guys went on performing as if nothing ever happened. When their song ended, Cowell said, "I have no idea what that was about, so whoever's watching, I do apologize." He then addressed Adam and Richard, saying, "I'm sorry for you guys, actually."
Holt later issued an apology to Richard and Adam, saying, "I want to apologize to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance. I've never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realized it was a silly thing to do." Holt is a BAFTA-nominated composer.
