eva-longoria-brooklyn-nine-nine-getty.jpgEva Longoria, a Golden Globe nominee for her work on "Desperate Housewives," is returning to the airwaves this fall on FOX's hit new comedy "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," the network announced Tuesday (Aug. 19).

Longoria will play Sophia, a defense attorney who catches the eye of Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) when they face off against each other in court. She joins an ever-growing list of Season 2 guest stars that includes Kyra Sedgwick, Jenny Slate and former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens appearing as himself.

Season 1 of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" ended with Peralta "quitting" the NYPD in order to go undercover for the FBI. When Season 2 picks up, viewers will get to see how that operation is going for Jake, while Capt. Holt is busy facing off with his longtime nemesis (Sedgwick).

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" returns Sunday, Sept. 28 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
