dean-winters-brooklyn-nine-nine-gi.jpgHey, dummies, there's some interesting casting news on FOX's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine": Dean Winters has landed a guest-starring role.

Winters, who played Tina Fey's on-off-but-mostly-off boyfriend Dennis Duffy on "30 Rock," will play a fellow cop and rival to Andy Samberg's character on the new comedy, EW reports. His character, Warren Pembroke, is on the NYPD's Major Crimes Unit, a notch above Samberg's Jake Peralta.

In addition to "30 Rock," Winters has recently reprised his role on "Law & Order: SVU" and was a regular on "Oz" and "Rescue Me." He's also the personification of Mayhem in a series of Allstate insurance commercials.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" premieres Sept. 17 on FOX.
