Bruno Mars is Super Bowl XLVIII halftime performer

bruno-mars-super-bowl-xlvii.jpgIs Bruno Mars the latest act to follow in the footsteps of The Who, Madonna, Prince and dozens of other artists as Super Bowl halftime performers? According to an Associated Press source, that is indeed the case.

A person speaking on the condition of anonymity who is familiar with the NFL's entertainment plans tells the AP that Mars is the chosen halftime performer for Super Bowl XLVIII (that's Super Bowl 48) on Feb. 2, 2014 in East Rutherford, N.J.

Mars is a Grammy-winning musician who most recently won Best Male Video and Best Choreography for "Treasure" at the MTV Video Music Awards in August. His debut album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" went 2x platinum in the U.S. and the follow-up album, "Unorthodox Jukebox," is also platinum, having sold nearly 1.5 million copies in the U.S.

What do you think, readers? Is Mars a good choice for the Super Bowl?
