Cameron Diaz relives her Super Bowl popcorn feeding with David Letterman
It's been four and a half months since the Super Bowl, but the FOX cameras that captured Cameron Diaz feeding popcorn to her boyfriend, New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, is still following her. So much so that she re-enacted it on Monday's (June 20) "Late Show with David Letterman."
Diaz, who's doing the talk-show circuit to promote "Bad Teacher," says it all started when A-Rod tried to grab some popcorn.
"We were watching the game, and I was eating, and I was getting down to, like, the last couple pieces of popcorn," she tells Letterman. "And all of a sudden, I see a hand coming in. And I'm like -- anybody who knows me does not put their hand in my food, especially when it's close to my mouth. ...
"And then I went, 'You know what? I love you too much, I'm going to give it to you. You deserve it.' And it was the only piece of popcorn that I even put near his face, and they happened to have the camera on right when I did it."
So now you know. You can see Diaz and Letterman re-enact the fateful scene (which caused A-Rod a lot of grief in the sports-commentary world) in the video above.
