Carly Rae Jepsen dials in to '90210' Season 5 premiere - definitely

carly-rae-jepsen-billboard-gi.jpgThere's no maybe about the first celebrity guest star on "90210" Season 5. Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen, she of "Call Me Maybe" fame, will spread her newest catchy earworm on the CW soap when it returns on October 8.

Jepsen is set to perform a new single from her upcoming album, due out in the fall, but there's no way The CW will deny us some "Call Me Maybe" action. That'd just be cruel. (They already used the song in the Season 4 finale, but everybody knows there's no such thing as too much "Call Me Maybe.")

Here's how they'll work her in: Jepsen is the headliner for Adrianna's Las Vegas debut performance, but plans change once Adrianna finds out about Dixon's accident.

"We fell in love with her song when we first heard it, and used it in last season's finale before it was a national sensation," executive producers Patti Carr and Lara Olsen say in a statement. "We think she's an exciting artist and are thrilled to be able to have her music on the show again, this time in a live performance in our season premiere."

Sometimes these cameos seem shoehorned in, but there is no doubt that The CW plus Carly Rae is a match made in heaven. Now, how long do we have to wait until we hear new music from this girl?
