First she said she was definitely coming back for the next "Star Wars" installment, but then she said it was a joke and there was no deal in place. So, is Carrie Fisher reprising her role as Princess Leia?
It sounds like the actress is confirming, again, that she is signed on. While appearing at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo in Canada on Saturday (April 27), she had plenty to say about the return, while not spilling any details about the movie itself, the Calgary Herald reports. "I like being bought by Disney," Fisher jokes, "because they never wanted to buy me before."
She also says she's thankful for the new movie, because "they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I'm really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything."
Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford have both talked about returning, but have yet to confirm they'll actually be featured in the new trilogy. Hamill admitted in February that the three principles have spoken with the studio about the new movie, but no deals were made. Recently, on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Harrison Ford opted not to answer any "Star Wars"-related questions, but took part in a comedy skit with Chewbacca to the delight of the audience.
J.J. Abrams is directing the next "Star Wars" adventure, which will be in theaters in 2015. After that, Disney plans to have a new film in the franchise open every summer.
