Carrie Underwood debuts 'Keep Us Safe' during ACM's Salute to the Troops
During the Academy of Country Music's All-Star Salute to the Troops Tuesday (May 20), Carrie Underwood debuted a new song that she wrote just for the CBS special called "Keep Us Safe."
Above, Underwood talks about the songwriting process and in a statement with CBS, she says, "Because ACM Lifting Lives does such great work, I wanted to take the time to really think about what song I wanted to perform. I had a writing session scheduled with my co-writers and friends Hillary Lindsey, Luke Laird and Shane McAnally, and I guess the show was weighing on my mind. I think we all left the session knowing the song was special, because it basically wrote itself that day!"
The audio for the new song is below and we'll add video of the Salute to the Troops performance just as soon as CBS releases it.
