Carrie Underwood, Stephen Moyer perform 'Sound of Music' classics in extended trailer
Carrie Underwood and "True Blood's" Stephen Moyer are bringing to life the classic musical "The Sound of Music" in a live broadcast set to air on NBC on Dec. 5. In anticipation of the stage production, an extended trailer has been released that shows snippets from rehearsals.
In the video, Underwood and Moyer perform classics like "My Favorite Things," "Do Re Mi" and "Maria." They also discuss the difficult task of bringing to life this story with only one shot to get it right. But, if they do, Underwood hopes that this is a version of "The Sound of Music" for a whole new generation.
The original musical "The Sound of Music" was released in 1959 with the music done by Richard Rodgers and the lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. The film version, which starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, was later released in 1965. Are you looking forward to this new version of the classic?
