The upcoming "Castle" Season 7 will have a new man running the show. Creator Andrew W. Marlowe is stepping down as showrunner and will be replaced by executive producer David Amann.

Marlowe is not exiting the show altogether though -- he will maintain a presence on "Castle" while also working to develop new programming in a deal with ABC Studios. A statement from Marlowe indicates that he is happy with the change: "Over the past four seasons, David has proven himself to be a tremendous leader and a great steward of our show's unique voice. I'm excited to continue our creative collaboration as he assumes his new responsibilities."

Amann has served as an executive producer on "Castle" since Season 3 and is credited as a writer on 11 episodes, including "Heroes and Villains," "3XK," "After the Storm" and "That '70s Show."

"Castle" returns to ABC in the fall on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
