is starting a new weekly feature and basically we're asking ourselves, "If we could only watch one thing this week, what would it be?"
In some cases, we're welcoming back old friends such as
U.S. debut on
and the U.S. premiere of
In other cases, we just NEED to know what goes down as with
"Pretty Little Liars,"
Whatever the reason, we'll be sure to be on our couch and tweeting a storm when our picks are airing. We'd be thrilled if you joined us!
Here's Zap2it's must-watch list for this week:
Monday, Jan. 24:
'Pretty Little Liars' (ABC Family), 8 p.m. ET
The "A" mystery is really ramping up, as this mysterious entity seems to be helping the Liars rather than terrorizing them. The Ian/Alison scandal also has my interest piqued -- in the cliffhanger video from the last episode, was Alison grabbing the ground in the throes of death or the throes of passion? The second half of Season 1 is even more fun than the first half and it's has become a show we most look forward to each week.
'Castle' (ABC), 10 p.m. ET
While in general I record "Castle" to watch the next day while making dinner, this episode is definitely a "watch when it airs" one. We're finally getting back to the unsolved murder of Beckett's (
Stana Katic) mother. When the retired lead detective on the case is killed right in front of Beckett it turns out the answer to who killed him might be connected to her mother's death as well. You know Beckett is going to be emotionally vulnerable which can only make things between her and Castle (
Nathan Fillion) more complicated.
'RuPaul's Drag Race' (Logo), 10 p.m. ET
In the season 3 premiere, we'll be introduced to 12 fabulous new drag queens ready to strap on their heels and crush the competition. In a sneak peek of the first challenge, we're introduced to
, who we are already hoping becomes a fan favorite. This season will kick off with a challenge involving a trampoline and some fake snow -- but as always, we'll be most looking forward to that final "lip sync for your life."
Wednesday, Jan. 26:
'Being Erica' Season 3 Premiere (Soapnet), 11 p.m. ET
It's finally here! Waiting for "Being Erica" to arrive on American airwaves seems like an eternity, especially if you follow Canadian fans on Twitter. Not only do we have to wait to hear if each season will be renewed, but then it airs in its homeland first. Yes, I'm sounding like an entitled American. I haven't even been able to savor the third season premiere yet and already I see worried tweets about whether Season 4 will get picked up!
In the premiere, we meet up with our adorable time-traveler, Erica (
Erin Karpluk), as Dr. Tom (
Michael Riley) is asking her to pick a mysterious door. This season, Erica finds herself overwhelmed with trying to start a new business with Julianne (
Reagan Pasternak) right after breaking things off with Ethan (
Tyron Leitso). To complicate matters, Dr. Tom introduces a new therapy and new rules this season.
Thursday, Jan. 27:
Ricky Gervais on 'The Office' (NBC), 9 p.m. ET
"The Office" has had a bit of an up-and-down season, but regardless of what goes down inside Thursday's episode I'm psyched to see the show's creator, Ricky Gervais, play David Brent once more in the cold opening. What a British office manager would be doing in Scranton, Pa., I don't know -- but I also kinda don't care. Seeing him and
Steve Carell play off each other should make for a fine couple minutes.
'Nikita' (The CW), 9 p.m. ET
became must-watch fare for me after its stellar mid-season finale in which Alex (
) made her first kill: Thom (RIP
!), a fellow recruit and beloved love interest. I can't to see how the show -- and Nikita (
Maggie Q) herself -- handles Alex's activation and transition into a "normal" life. How will Nikita have to readjust her mission to take down Division without the help of a man on the inside? And how soon will Division realize that Thom really wasn't the mole? When will we meet our next guardian? These are just a few of the questions I'm dying to get the answers to when the action-packed freshman series returns with "Free."
'Archer' (FX), 10 p.m. ET
Because some semblance of justice and order remains in the universe,
returns to FX for Season 2 -- despite cruising so far under the radar during its first run most people still haven't heard of it. So now's your chance. Part "James Bond," part "South Park," it's one of the most bitingly funny comedies on TV right now and possibly our favorite animated series. Complementing the the stellar writing, you've also got an all-star line-up of voice actors, including
H. Jon Benjamin
. Just watch.
Friday, Jan. 28:
Supernatural (The CW), 9 p.m. ET
Sam Winchester (
Jared Padalecki) finally has his soul back! I've enjoyed watching him be soulless these last few months, since the new dynamic between Sam and Dean (
Jensen Ackles) was refreshing after five seasons of mutual angsting. Still, I missed the real Sam, so now that he's back on the Soul Train, I can't wait to see what he remembers and what he doesn't from his time in hell... and his time as a heartless sociopath. Only on this show.
Zappers, what are you most looking forward to this week?
