hunger-games-catching-fire-cast.jpg Jeffrey Wright (above, second from the left), the Emmy-winning actor who plays Beetee in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," stopped by "Chelsea Lately" Monday (Nov. 18) where he talked about going diving with sharks in Hawaii with the cast, including Jennifer Lawrence -- who reacted in a weird way.

"Jennifer was so freaked out," says Wright. "She refused to get into the cage, she was sitting on top of the cage, hands dipping in the water outside the cage. She did everything but fall over and be eaten. ... It wasn't exactly rational."

He also talks about pranking J-Law after she won her Oscar last year for "The Silver Linings Playbook." Apparently, she came back from the Academy Awards and he gave her a blue Tiffany's box, which contained --

"As many crickets as I could cram into the box. Just to keep her grounded. What do you give the girl who has everything? ... There was a little charm from Tiffany's in there as well," laughs Wright.

But he adds that she kind of got him back, in a way, because in working to cram dozens of crickets into this box, many escaped into his hotel room.

"They hop under your bed and behind your dress and they 'sing' to you at night," says Wright.

Finally, Wright talks about his struggles with the "dance belt" the guys had to wear on set -- "I don't know if I went 'commando,' but a little ... hard to contain."

Yikes.

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" opens nationwide Thursday, Nov. 21 and Friday, Nov. 22 (depending on if you get any advanced screenings in your area).
