Well, it happened. "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam has been cast as Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." The surprise announcement came minutes after author E.L. James revealed that "Ben and Kate" star Dakota Johnson would portray Anastasia Steele.

James shared the news on Twitter, writing, "The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey'." Hunnam was first rumored for the role in August, though it was largely dismissed.

The character will be a huge change for Hunnam, who is best known for playing biker badboy Jax Teller on "Sons of Anarchy," which is going into its sixth season. "Fifty Shades of Grey" is scheduled for an August 1, 2014 release. Most recently, Hunnam was seen in the robots vs. monsters movie "Pacific Rim."
