Charlie Sheen gets a Comedy Central roast -- is that a winning move?

charlie-sheen-roast.jpg Charlie Sheen will subject himself to the latest "Comedy Central Roast" in September -- and it will air the same night that "Two and a Half Men" returns to the air.

The two will not compete directly, however, as the "Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen" is scheduled to air at 10 p.m. ET Sept. 19. The Season 9 premiere of "Two and a Half Men" airs at 9 that night.

"You could say I've been providing kindling for this roast for a while," Sheen says in Comedy Central's announcement. "It's time to light it up. It's going to be epic."

The roast will be Sheen's first TV appearance (not counting news interviews) since he was booted from "Two and a Half Men" in February. Rumors have been swirling in the past week about a new TV deal for the actor, but nothing's nailed down yet.

Sheen joins the likes of Donald Trump, David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Flavor Flav, Joan Rivers, William Shatner and Bob Saget in being the subject of a Comedy Central roast. There's no word yet on who will be taking shots at Sheen.
