"Chicago Fire" has been doing well for NBC, so it's no wonder that the network wants to keep that magic going. The procedural was already picked up for a full season, and now it might be getting a spinoff as well.

Deadline is reporting that the proposed "Chicago Fire" spinoff would be about the city's police department. "Chicago Fire" creators/executive producers Derek Haas and Michael Brandt are reportedly developing the cop drama with executive producers Matt Olmstead and Dick Wolf.

If this news tickles your fancy, then you're in luck, because it allegedly won't be long until the spinoff concept is introduced. The idea will reportedly be planted in "Chicago Fire's" Season 1 finale episode, which is slated to air on May 15. It's still being determined which of the show's actors could move over to the spinoff. For example, Jon Seda plays recurring Chicago PD Detective Antonio Dawson in "Chicago Fire."
