'Child bride' Courtney Stodden kicked off Facebook
We imagine many of you wish you could ban Courtney Stodden from various facets of life. However, Facebook has taken the initiative and started the movement.
Courtney Stodden, the 17-year-old 'child bride' of "Lost" actor Doug Hutchinson (51), was kicked off of Facebook for "inappropriate sexual content." Stodden's personal and fan pages have both been pulled down.
Krista Keller, Stodden's mom, is coming to her daughter's defense. Keller told E! News her theories on the source of the problem:
"[J]ealousy from...women towards her...The men love her, the women hate her. The women report the photo[s] because it's so easy to do...They think she's too sexy, they all report her together, and it's done...There is nothing on her page you wouldn't find anywhere on Facebook...She has never done any nudity...It's just her in a bathing suit.
Hmm. We put our detectives on the case and our theory is that perhaps Facebook is watch-dogging extremely provocative photos of a reported minor. But apparently, Stodden's mom is fighting for the right of her 17-year-old daughter to flaunt her "sexy" figure on Facebook. Who would have thought that a faceless social network site would turn out to be the responsible parenting figure here?
UPDATE: The dream is dead. In a statement made to E!, Facebook says that Stodden's "page was removed in error and has been restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused." Even though her conspiracy theorizing was a cause for the story breaking, Stodden's mother Keller is ready to forgive, saying that "we have the utmost respect for Facebook and Mark [Zuckerberg]." We're sure Mark is thrilled to hear it.
