UPDATE 1:37 p.m. ET: Gleeks can all breathe a sigh of relief -- Colfer's manager tells The Hollywood Reporter that the star's Twitter account was hacked, and he will be returning to the show for its abbreviated final season.

UPDATE: 1:54 p.m. ET: Twentieth Century Fox, which produces "Glee," has also confirmed that the Tweet was false.

Zap2it reached out for comment from FOX, but had not heard back at posting time. No word on what this could mean for the future of the show, which is set to return for Season 6 at some undetermined point in 2015, likely with a reduced episode order.
