When Kris Kross rapper Chris Kelly was found dead in his Atlanta home Wednesday (May 1), a spokeswoman from the Fulton County police said that the cause of death appeared to be a possible drug overdose. The police report, which was obtained by TMZ, supports that possibility.

According to the report, Kelly's mother, Donna Kelly Pratt, told police that one night prior, the rapper had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine, commonly known as a "speedball." Donna says she took Kelly home to recover from the drugs, something she had done in the past. After spending the morning nauseous, he passed out.

Police were called to the house around 4:30 p.m. and found Kelly unresponsive. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead around 5 p.m.

An autopsy was performed on Kelly, ruling out trauma or foul play as a cause of death. The toxicology report will be completed within 3-4 weeks.
