Chris Soules is officially the next 'Bachelor'Add to Favorites | The Bachelor
Soules tells "Good Morning America" that the reason he's doing it is because he believes in the process. "I believe in what I went through on the previous show and that's why I'm doing it," says Soules. "Coming from a small town, I'd never really expected to have this opportunity to be on either show, let alone be the lead on 'The Bachelor,' so it's been awesome. I'm humbled, flattered, grateful."
Soules' family, which was featured on his hometown date with Andi Dorfman, were well-liked by viewers, especially Soules' mom. He says everyone is very excited for him.
"I know they were extremely excited for me," says Soules. "Everybody's been very supportive. ... My focus is going to be to make the girls that are on the show as comfortable as possible because that was my first initial challenge, was opening up to Andi. I'm going to do my best."
Meanwhile, rejected potential "Bachelor" Arie Luyendyk Jr. may have been full of nice words on Twitter yesterday, but an inside source tells Us Weekly that he's quite unhappy about not being selected.
"The Bachelor" returns in January 2015.
