Christina Aguilera arrested: Just how drunk was she?
Aguilera's boyfriend, Matthew Rutler, was pulled over after 2 a.m. in West Hollywood for erratic driving. He blew a 0.09 BAC, over the 0.08 legal limit, and was arrested for driving under the influence. Aguilera, who was in the passenger side, was also brought in after officers observed drunken behavior.
"She was not capable of taking care of herself. She was incapacitated," L.A. County spokesperson Steve Whitmore explains. "She was cooperative. She was not belligerent in any way whatsoever. She was just intoxicated."
Aguilera didn't know her address and had trouble standing on her own. Concerned for public safety, and Aguilera's safety, police booked her.
She will not be prosecuted. "It just for a public safety issue," Whitmore says. "When she was able to navigate and to think on her own and make her own way, she was released."
Rutler was released Tuesday morning and has picked up his car from the impound lot.
