If you were excited to see "Mad Men" star  Christina Hendricks play a stripper in the upcoming Charlize Theron movie "Dark Places," this might come as bad news. She has switched roles in the movie and will now be, of all things, the murdered mother of Theron's character.

Producers on the movie offered Hendricks the part after Samantha Morton bowed out of the project, Deadline reports. The move is actually an upgrade for Christina, who was previously a supporting character and is now one of the leads. Hendricks will appear in flashbacks throughout the movie, as Theron's Libby Day discovers she might have been wrong about who killed her family.

The movie also stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult and Corey Stroll. "Dark Places" is currently filming and looking at a September 2014 release.
