Christopher Lloyd, David Arquette book pilots for ABC and more casting news
Christopher Lloyd has been cast as the grandfather to John Leguizamo and Dustin Ybarra in ABC's comedy "Only Fools and Horses," which chronicles this rag-tag family as they come up with crazy, morally questionable get-rich-quick schemes in their pursuit to become millionaires. [ Deadline]
David Arquette has been cast in ABC's "The Smart One" comedy pilot, playing husband to Candy ( Malin Akerman), the "dumb one" of dueling sisters. Portia de Rossi is the "smart one" sister, Jude. [ TV Line]
"Justified's" Natalie Zea has joined untitled Kevin Williamson thriller starring Kevin Bacon as an ex-FBI agent tracking a serial killer. Zea will play the ex-wife of said serial killer who finds herself in a horrible situation when he has escaped from prison.
Robert Wisdom of "The Wire" and Hayden Panettiere of "Heroes" have been cast in the ABC drama "Nashville," a family soap set against the Nashville country music scene. Wisdom will play a charismatic mayoral candidate and Panettiere will be a teen singing sensation named Juliette Barnes. [ Deadline]
Comedian Dane Cook has gotten a comedy pilot at NBC called "Next Caller Please," where he plays an Alpha male radio DJ who doesn't get along with his feminist female co-host ( Collette Wolfe). [ Hollywood Reporter]
"Weeds" star Elizabeth Perkins has been cast as Sarah Chalke's in the ABC comedy "How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life." The pilot is about a single mom (Chalke) who has to move back in with her parents. [ Deadline]
And a trio of lesser-known actresses have also booked pilots: Majandra Delfino, in the as-of-yet untitled Mandy Moore comedy for ABC; Tiffany Hines in ABC's soap "Americana"; and Liz Cackowski in CBS' workplace comedy about 20-somethings that work at an ad agency. [ Deadline]
