It's official: Christopher Nolan's new film "Interstellar" has headed into production. Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. announced the exciting news in a press release.

According to the release, the mysterious science fiction film "chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage." That's about as vague a synopsis as we've come to expect from Nolan films, especially his original ideas.

"Interstellar's" full cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, John Lithgow, Bill Irwin, Wes Bentley, David Oyelowo, Mackenzie Foy, Topher Grace, Michael Caine, Ellen Burstyn and Timothée Chalamet. It's due in theaters on Nov. 7, 2014. Check out the full press release here.
