'Chuck' at Comic-Con: Throws quite a party, drops some intel, then peeves off fans

chuck-comic-con-zachary-levi.jpgThe " Chuck" panel can claim bragging rights for having one of the most entertaining openings of San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 24). All the major cast showed up plus executive producers, Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz.

The festivities started out with a highlight reel of the season so far - major arcs like Chuck ( Zachary Levi) and Sarah's ( Yvonne Strahovski) romance, Morgan's ( Joshua Gomez) voyage to spy legitimacy and Chuck's rocky relationship with his father played by Scott Bakula. Then, we were treated to the most hilarious video of the show's musical duo, "Jeffster" ( Scott Krinsky and Vik Sahay), to Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance."

Warning: Spoilers!

The highlight reel ended with a big casting coup with the news that "Terminator's" Linda Hamilton will play Chuck's mom. In fact, much of next season will deal with Chuck's search for his mother and what that means to him. The show won't make us wait very long to see her, either. Hamilton will appear in the premiere.

In other casting intel, the Buy More will be taken over by the CIA and there will always be a green shirt named Greta - male or female - that will be filled with revolving guest stars. Olivia Munn will be the first. Isaiah Mustafa, former NFL'er and a spokesman for Old Spice, will play the second Greta. That's as far as the EPs have gotten.

And, in Chuck and Sarah relationship news: The two will still be together and the producers listened to the fans on Shaw ( Brandon Routh), who got in between them this past season.

"Shaw was a great villain," says Schwartz. "But Chuck and Sarah have incredible chemistry and that's hard to replicate and we've learned some things."

Then, as the cast and EPs got ready for questions, a voice came over the loudspeaker and announced there was no time for fan questions. Everyone, including the "Chuck" folks, was visibly (and audibly with the boos) unhappy about it.

Turns out that playing the "Jeffster" video took up the fan Q&A time. We can understand the crowd's annoyance. Some of those fans waited for hours to get into the room!
