'Chuck': 'White Collar's' Tim DeKay joins the final season

Tim DeKay has signed on for the NBC show's eighth episode, which is shaping up to be all about Sarah's ( Yvonne Strahovski) past. According to EW, DeKay will play her former CIA handler, whose reappearance in her life forces her to deal with some of the things she did before becoming part of Team Bartowski.

That episode will also feature Cheryl Ladd as Sarah's never-before-seen mother, who also brings some baggage from the past with her.

The casting of DeKay also strikes us as a nice little nod to both "Chuck's" history and DeKay's current show. "White Collar" star Matthew Bomer played Bryce Larkin, a key character in "Chuck" lore, in seven episodes over the show's first two seasons. And since Bryce worked with Sarah at the CIA, there's a pretty good chance DeKay's "Chuck" character will know of him as well.

"Chuck" premieres Friday, Oct. 28, and "White Collar" will be back on USA in January.
