Maybe Cyrus, the one-month-old son of the acclaimed actress and Hugh Dancy didn't actually earn a trophy, but he won plenty of praise at the podium.

"I have to thank our son now," the proud mama said in accepting the Best Actress award for TV Drama, "for joining me throughout the whole process and being so game in fighting this war against terrorism."

"I admitted to everyone on our show early on in the season that I was with child, that Carrie was in fact carrying," revealed Danes, who plays the obsessive intelligence operative Carrie Mathison on the Showtime thriller.

"They were all so, so, so supportive, from our benevolent bosses ... to our costume designer who had to take my pants out every damn week."

Her burgeoning belly didn't detract from her performance. On the contrary, raved showrunner Alex Gansa, who praised his leading lady when accepting "Homeland's" Golden Globe for Best Drama"

"I just wish you could have all seen Claire Danes, 8 months' pregnant, holding a steel pipe, being chased down a drainage tunnel by Abu Nazir at 3 o'clock in the morning, over and over again, take after take."

Fortunately, Danes can take some time off to enjoy her new family. She (and baby Cyrus) won't be called to the frontlines again until next year, when "Homeland" begins filming its third season.
