Claire Danes has never been one to be self-conscious about the way her characters appear on screen. That's why she never let the Internet memes created over Carrie's crying face on "Homeland" get under her skin.

In the January 2014 issue of Glamour, Danes opens up about not being concerned about how glamorous she looks in the Showtime drama. She thinks it might be a sign of how self-conscious people are about their own emotions that leads them to make fun of Carrie.

"Well, it is true, she gets emotional a lot," Danes tells Glamour with a laugh. "There is that. But I actually think feelings are really hard for people. I think people are made uncomfortable by uncensored expressions of emotion. But, you know, that's my job. I don't have those fears. I really have never been concerned about being beautiful on-screen. I'm concerned about it if I'm playing a beautiful character. But it's not relevant for Carrie. I don't need to worry about that, and I think that's really great."

That's all well and dandy, but Danes really does have a crying face worth talking about. Don't know what Danes is talking about in regards to the Carrie cry face? Well let it be our pleasure to introduce you. Here's some of Danes' best cry faces from "Homeland," in no particular order.
