The "Arrow" panel at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con was kind of a big deal on Saturday (July 20), Why? The answers are all here.

In addition to a surprise appearance by John Barrowman, stars Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Colton Haynes and Emily Bett Rickards were joined by executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg.

Yes, it looks like John Barrowman will return -- somehow -- as Malcolm Merlyn in Season 2!

The "Arrow" panel started with a sneak peek at "Arrow" Season 2. Highlights of the video include:

  • Summer Glau shows up to threaten Oliver and his company.
  • It sounds like Oliver has left Starling City for awhile before Season 2 begins.
  • Felicity has upgraded the lair. A lot. She wants Oliver to keep being the vigilante.
  • Roy kind of talks about vigilantism.
  • Detective Lance may just be Officer Lance in Season 2. Bit of a demotion...
  • Oliver doesn't want to be called the Hood anymore.
  • There's a lot of kissing.
  • Laurel wants to help the vigilante.
  • There's a pretty cool scene in which Oliver and Felicity come crashing through a window.
  • Roy gets a look at a lady who might be the Black Canary.

Other important things learned from the panel are:

  • Thea will be running Oliver's nightclub in Season 2.
  • The Season 2 premiere is called "City of Heroes."
  • Life in Starling City is worse in Season 2 than it was last year.
  • They're introducing the Black Canary story in the upcoming season. But the person you think it might be may not indeed be the real Black Canary.
  • The character of John Diggle is going to appear in upcoming "Green Arrow" comics.
  • New characters include Sebastian Blood (played by Kevin Alejandro) and Bronze Tiger (played by Michael Jai White).
  • "Trees. When you see the season premiere, that will make perfect sense." - Stephen Amell when asked for one word to describe the script for the Season 2 premiere
