Marvel Studios hosted its annual panel presentation at San Diego Comic-Con Friday (July 20)and delighted thousands of fans present in Hall H with news of "The Avengers" sequel, "Age of Ultron," as well as a surprise appearance by the cast of "Guardians of the Galaxy" -- including Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana -- who are two weeks into filming in London.
Pratt discussed his drastic physical makeover for the role, saying Marvel told him he was too fat when he signed on.
Benicio Del Toro, who has not started filming his "Guardians" role yet, joined his castmates to put an end to the rumors about which lead role he is taking on: It's The Collector. And Marvel was kind enough to share some "Guardians" footage, which fans excitedly tweeted about.
On hand to open up the panel was Tom Hiddleston, who appeared as "Thor: The Dark World's" Loki. Well, he didn't so much "appear" at first. The massive Hall H went dark before Loki's voice rang out: "Humanity, look how far you've fallen ... lining up in the sweltering heat for hours. Huddling together in the dark like beasts!" Marvel Studios President and Producer Kevin Feige then brought Hiddleston onstage in full Loki costume to ask, "Where are your Avengers now?"
The cast of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" -- including Scarlet Johansson, Chris Evans and Samuel L. Jackson -- also made appearances, and an extended trailer was shown that unsurprisingly had fans buzzing across the Twittersphere.
