"Sherlock" will hold its first ever panel at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con this summer. A panel about the PBS/BBC show will bring secrets and -- hopefully -- information about Season 3 of the modernization of the Sherlock Holmes story.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the show's two stars, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, will attend the panel (according to EW.com). Their absences have not been confirmed, but both actors have major film commitments these days.

Instead of actors, "Sherlock" will bring a group of producers to talk about the show. Steven Moffat (the co-creator, writer and executive producer), Mark Gatiss (co-creator, writer and executive producer) and Sue Vertue (producer) are confirmed panelists. If you do need actors in your panels, take comfort in the presence of Gatiss -- in addition to his writing and producing duties, he also recurs on "Sherlock" as Mycroft Holmes.

What sorts of secrets and hints might the audience learn from the "Sherlock" panel? The biggest hint might be about how Sherlock managed to survive his deadly (or not) fall at the end of Season 2. Whatever answers may come, they will definitely be welcome -- US audiences will not get to see Season 3 until 2014.

The exact date and time of the panel has not yet been announced but is expected on Thursday, July 4.
