Could "Community" Season 6 still happen? Reports indicate that Hulu has begun preliminary talks with production company Sony Pictures TV to bring back the series for at least one more season.

Deadline cites unnamed sources that claim both sides are interested in bringing "Community" into its fabled "six seasons and a movie" territory with new episodes for future production. Since Hulu already holds the online rights to digital syndication and a partnership with Comedy Central (the television syndicator), the online channel is an obvious choice for a "Community" revival.

Hulu has also begun to push for original programming and has 6 million subscribers to Hulu Plus to watch. Add in the fact that Sony is that rare producer that works to keep shows going -- in addition to the "Community" Season 5 deal, the studio is responsible for the extended lives of "Drop Dead Diva," "Unforgettable" and "Rules of Engagement" -- and this could actually happen.

Of course, a whole lot more than just preliminary talks will be necessary to resurrect a show left for dead. But, like Halloween revelers eating tainted meat, "Community" could indeed rise from the dead.
