Gillian Jacobs, who plays Britta on NBC's "Community," and Thursday's (Nov. 4) guest star, Hilary Duff, have worked together before - kind of.
"I used to babysit," Jacobs tells Zap2it. "And the kids I babysat were huge Hilary Duff fans and so we used to have dance parties every day to her music. So I am very familiar with the albums of Miss Hilary Duff."
In fact when we asked if she recited any of Duff's song lyrics for her when she was on-set, Jacobs was quick to answer, "I didn't, but I could. I could at will. She sang that song called "So Yesterday" that I remember very vividly. Her music is very catchy."
Duff goes against her typically sweet reputation in the episode in which she plays the leader of Greendale's "mean girls," Meghan. And while she gives Britta and the other gals of the study group a hard time, Abed's (played by Danny Pudi) talent for telling it how it is comes in handy.
"You are going to see a different side of Miss Hilary Duff than I think you may be used to," Jacobs says. "And she was just such a delight. She is such a sweet girl and, once again, it's like with Betty White. We are not content to just let them come in and out and have an easy day of it. We have to put them through the wringer on our show. And she was totally great."
