'Community's' Joel McHale and Gillian Jacobs on 'the business end' of Shirley's labor

It's about that time, folks. Shirley ( Yvette Nicole Brown) is about to burst on Thursday's (April 28) episode of NBC's  "Community."

Zap2it was the first to post a photo from the, um, happy occasion. While Dean Pelton ( Jim Rash) handles some kind of disturbance outside, Shirley goes into unexpected labor inside and the study group may be in over their heads. Meanwhile, Chang ( Ken Jeong) searches for any evidence that it's a "Chang baby"!

Joel McHale (who plays Jeff) and Gillian Jacobs (Britta) dished on the delivery with Zap2it and here's what we were able to uncover:

We hear that your characters may get in the way of Shirley and the pregnancy rather than helping the situation.
Gillian Jacobs: I think between the two of us we provide some help and assistance.

Joel McHale: I will say that one of us will be wearing a catcher's mitt -- the proverbial catcher's mitt. Most of the study group is down on the business end, purely, if you know what I mean.

That's what we're worried about. Should we worry about the business end of Shirley?
GJ: You know we are a network television show at 8 p.m., so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

JM: But, where the baby is coming from -- we're all participating.

GJ: It takes a village.

So, how difficult is the birth? Or, is it an easy one?
JM: It's a C-section that happens in the middle of a classroom.

GJ: A lot of blood.

JM: No, I would say, especially with what is happening outside, it has to happen in a classroom. It's definitely not easy.

Outside, there's some sort of riot, right?
GJ: I don't know

JM: Maybe.

Will you be tuning in to find out how it all goes down and who Shirley's baby-daddy is?
