Condoleezza Rice hits spectator in the head during Pebble Beach golf tournament
Whoops! Condoleezza Rice hit a spectator on the head with a golf ball while playing a round during the first day of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. The viewer was standing behind the rope as directed, but Rice's fourth shot on the sixth hole flew up and hit the woman in the face anyways.
The spectator suffered from a cut nose that was bleeding, and Rice reportedly ran up to her and asked, "Did I hit you? It was a bad shot. I'm really sorry."
At least both Rice and the woman were good sports about the incident. Rice stayed by the viewer's side until first-aid help arrived, and told the woman's daughter to update her about the injured spectator's condition as she resumed her game. The woman reportedly suffered concussion-like symptoms. Not a great way for Rice to start off a tournament, even if she did enter as an amateur.
