Courtney Love 'sorry' about saying Dave Grohl hit on Frances Bean Cobain

courtney-love-2012-gi.jpgParenting in the age of social media can be a big challenge. You never know what your child is reading or how true it is. And it can only get worse when the parent is the one responsible for the misinformation. But such is the case with Courtney Love and her daughter Frances Bean Cobain.

Just days after Love wrote on Twitter that she'd heard that Dave Grohl had "hit on" her daughter, Love decided to apologize, again on Twitter.

"Bean, sorry I believed the gossip," Love writes on the social media site. "Mommy loves you."

Perhaps this will smooth things over between mother and daughter. After Love's accusation, her daughter responds through her publicist, "While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn. I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy."

Grohl, who has an acrimonious relationship with Love, also denied the charge saying they were "offensive and absolutely untrue."

Cobain, 19, is currently engaged to Isaiah Silva, singer of the band the Rambles.
