Craig Ferguson takes 'The Late Late Show' to Paris

craig-ferguson-320.jpg "The Late Late Show" is going abroad: Craig Ferguson and Co. will tape a week's worth of shows in Paris later this month.

Ferguson made the announcement on Monday's show, joking that "This is the first time in the history of this show that we've been allowed outside.

"Historically, when Americans don't know what to do next, they go to Paris.  Benjamin Franklin is like 'What am I going to do now? I'll go to Paris!'"

The show -- which for the week will be renamed "Le Late Late Show Avec Craig Ferguson" -- will tape in Paris from June 13-17. Kristen Bell will join Ferguson and his robot sidekick Geoff on the trip; the rest of the lineup will be announced later. They're scheduled to air on CBS the week of Aug. 1.

Ferguson's announcement is below. We just wonder how he's going to start the show when he's in France: "It's a great day for France," maybe? "It's a great day to be an American in Paris"? We'll find out in a couple months.
