'Criminal Minds': A.J. Cook gets two-episode goodbye
A.J. Cook, who plays "JJ" on the CBS drama, is in fact leaving the show, but she said late Friday (June 25) that she'll get a couple of episodes to put a cap on her character's story line.
"Thanks for all the undying support but it's a done deal," Cook tweeted. "I'll be doing 2 eps to wrap up JJ. Excited for what's next and hope you'll come along! XO."
Fans have not been happy about Cook's exit, which "Minds" producers have said was a creative decision meant to freshen up the show. A new female character may be introduced farther down the line.
Meanwhile Paget Brewster, whose role was reportedly being reduced this season, has finalized her deal for Season 6. According to Deadline.com, she'll appear in 10 of the first 13 episodes this season, and likely most of the back nine as well.
