csi-season-14-renewal.jpgThe longest-running scripted series on CBS will keep running for one more year.

"CSI" will be back for a 14th season in 2013-14, the network says. Star Ted Danson will also return after signing a contract extension.

The rest of the regular cast has also signed on for next season.

"'CSI' is synonymous with CBS, and we are so proud of the series' creative and commercial legacy and its continued success on our network," CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler says. "The writers and producers have done an amazing job evolving 'CSI,' reinventing the show around an incredible leading man in Ted Danson, the acclaimed Elisabeth Shue and our beloved and talented core of original cast members."

Although its ratings aren't near the heights it once reached, "CSI" is still a reliable ratings performer for CBS. This season it's averaging 11.85 million viewers and a 2.9 rating among adults 18-49, leading its Wednesday timeslot in both counts. It's also a hit in dozens of other countries.
