'CSI's' William Petersen, a 'Cosby' kid back on TV in pilots

william-petersen-tempestt-bledsoe.jpgReturning to TV for the first time after his long run on "CSI," William Petersen is set to star in and produce "Hurt People," a drama about a veteran hitman, Hollis Brown, who is employed by the crime family that murdered his wife. He is hired to hunt down and kill his estranged daughter. The show is going to be of a much darker nature than "CSI" and is being shopped around cable stations. [ Deadline]

"The Cosby Show's" second-youngest child, Tempestt Bledsoe, is returning to NBC in "DILFs," the Jimmy Fallon comedy pilot that follows three middle-aged guys who are parents and husbands, yet can't seem to grow up. Bledsoe will play the wife of Anthony Anderson's character. [ TV Line]

NBC's untitled comedy pilot about Agnes ( Sarah Wright), a shy focused woman who gets dumped by her fiance, has cast Freddie Prinze Jr. as said fiance. The break-up is because Prinze's character Noah wants to come out of his nerd shell and lose his nerd girlfriend. The two work at Pharmville, a pharmaceutical corporation. Mena Suvari has also been cast. [ Deadline]

Charlies "Chip" Esten ("Enlightened," "Whose Line Is It Anyway") has been cast in ABC's "Nashville," a soap set against the country music world. Esten will play Deacon, a songwriter and guitar player and former lover to the aging country star main character Rayna. Also, The untitled FOX drama centering on a 14-year-old orphan daughter of a CIA operative has cast Louise Lombard ("CSI") has the former lover of Kevin Lear ( Julian McMahon), the CIA agent standing in as a surrogate father for the orphaned girl.

Ben Rappaport, recently seen starring on NBC's "Outsourced," has been cast in ABC's comedy pilot "Awesometown." The show focuses on modern relationships for 20-somethings. Rappaport plays Dusty, a guy who has been with the same woman since the 8th grade. He catches her cheating and moves in with two male friends ( Nick Kocher and James Earl III). [ Deadline]

TNT's "LA Noir" has added Alexa Davalos as the female lead in the period drama that chronicles the long-time conflict between the LAPD and mob boss Mickey Cohen. FOX's "Rebounding" has added Andrea Savage as the main character's smothering sister. CBS' untitled comedy pilot has added Broadway actress Patti Murin as a vintage clothing designer. And Alexia Fast has been added to NBC's drama "Midnight Sun" as a girl who investigates the disappearance of a cult-like commune full of people. [ Deadline]

The CW's "Grey's Anatomy"-esque pilot "First Cut" has cast its hard-core heart surgeon in Necar Zadegan, in a role that sounds a lot like Christina Yang on "Grey's." The cast already includes Meryl Streep's daughter Mamie Gummer, Justin Hartley, Michael Rady and Aja Naomi King. [ Hollywood Reporter]
