'Curse of Chucky' gets a trailer as 'Child's Play' turns 25

Believe it or not, the movie "Child's Play" is turning 25 years old. It was 1988 when that possessed Chucky doll first took to the big screen, wreaking havoc on anyone and everyone.

From there, the movie turned into a series and continued to get sillier as the installments rolled on. The last time Chucky was seen was in 2004's "Seed of Chucky," in which the doll and his doll wife (voiced by Jennifer Tilly) enlist real-life Jennifer Tilly to make a half-doll/half-human baby. Makes sense, right?

However, the 25th anniversary of the first film brings with it a new movie, "Curse of Chucky," and seems to be trying to get back to what the story's really about: a possessed doll terrorizing and murdering people.

"Curse of Chucky" is the first film in the series to forego a theatrical release, instead going straight to Blu-ray and video-on-demand, as many movies are starting to do. You'll be able to see "Curse of Chucky" on October 8. In the meantime, check out the trailer below:
