Dallas Mavericks dancers' uniforms get skimpier

Are the new Dallas Mavs Dancers' uniforms really just much ado about nothing? Some fans think so, but tongues were sure wagging -- and, most likely, drooling -- when the dance team made their 2012 season debut at the Mavericks' home opener against the Charlotte Bobcats.

The ladies are known -- as are, arguably, all professional sports dance teams -- for their less is more attire, but it seems this season they've turned the skimp factor up a notch. Yahoo Sports says the sideless, strappy mini-dresses "prove not everything's bigger in Texas," and Sports Grid's headline reads, "Mavericks cheerleaders pretty much naked at this point."

Some argue the cross-town Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders -- whose annual spring training is chronicled on CMT's "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team" -- are known for pushing "revealing" to the edge. But a side-by-side comparison of game wear in action shows the Mavs Dancers are one-upping the Cowboys Cheerleaders in the contest for who can show the most skin. (Perhaps, the better question is, who's doing it classier?)

Not that anyone's thinking about basketball, but the Mavs beat the Bobcats 126-99.
