'Dallas' renewed for Season 3 on TNTAdd to Favorites | Dallas
That possibility is now a reality, as TNT says it has ordered a third season of the show. As with Season 2, Season 3 will run for 15 episodes. It's set to premiere in early 2014.
"'Dallas' has built a passionately loyal following with its expertly woven storylines, clever twists and turns, and numerous outstanding performances," TNT president and head of programming Michael Wright says. "Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing this year, Dallas has many more stories left to tell, and the Ewing clan will continue to honor J.R.'s memory by keeping its audience surprised and delighted."
Season 2 closed with J.R. essentially framing old rival Cliff Barnes ( Ken Kercheval) for his death and the Ewing family in control of both their own company and Barnes Global. Cliff, however, played one last card in telling Elena ( Jordana Brewster) that J.R. had swindled her great-grandfather out of some valuable land years ago, setting up what will likely be a big story for next season.
Ratings for "Dallas" fell off a good amount from the show's first to second seasons, but it still averaged a solid 3.8 million viewers this time out.
